Avoid These 5 Internet Marketing Mistakes by Taking Your Business Seriously

by   Posted on March 17th, 2009 in internet marketing  and tagged

You started your online business, you’ve tried everything to become successful, and yet your almost ready to call it quits. If your like most new business owners, You may have been hit by one or more of the most common Internet marketing mistakes that befall new online business owners. The good news is that these mistakes are easily correctable.

Don’t Treat Your Business as a Hobby

When people move online to start their own businesses, they often start with a hobby they enjoy. The problem is that it never progresses past the hobby stage. This is by far one of the hardest Internet marketing mistakes to overcome, mainly because many people never realize the difference. People who treat their new business as a hobby do not often put forth the requirements necessary to succeed. You must threat your online business as an actual business for the purpose of making money.

Not Doing Enough

Having an online business requires much more involvement then a hobby does. It will require more upkeep, more input, and more time on your part. Not doing enough for your business is another Internet marketing mistake that hits a new business owner quite hard. When you operate a business, you have to do more things like advertising, product research and development, and sales. So many new marketers, and some not so new ones, still do not understand the true value of proper advertising. People can only buy your product or service if they know it exists.

Thinking There is No Work Involved

For some unknown reason many new marketers think that operating an online business is far easier then running a traditional brick and mortar store. Just because your online does not mean there is no work involved. In some cases there might even be more. You do not have the benefit of placing yourself in local mall for traffic, for instance, and you need to find other non-traditional ways to generate sales.

You Will Not Get Rich Overnight

One of the all time leading Internet marketing mistakes is the belief that simply building an online business will also make you an overnight successful millionaire. The only way to be an overnight millionaire is to play the lottery, and win. Those odds are pretty slim. Having an online business can make you a lot of money, enough to replace a job or even retire, If you work it. Trust me, if getting rich overnight was so easy anyone could do it, everyone would have done it already. Whether your building a website, writing articles like this one, editing a new book, or some aspect of marketing your services, there is work to be done.

Keep Yourself Focused

There is not a person on the planet that has not been plagued by this major Internet marketing mistake at least one, that of keeping focused. Focusing on what your doing is quite harder when your trying to be an online success. Everyone wants to work at home, but then you have the spouse to deal with, walk the dogs, watch some TV during your lunch break or just relaxing a little too much, all of these things serve to distract you form accomplishing your workload.

Every business owner wants their business to be a success. No one really likes to fail. By making sure you are taking your business seriously, not treating it like a hobby, putting forth the work and understand that you are not going to get rich overnight, then you are already avoiding some of the most costly Internet marketing mistakes that can be made. Once you avoid those mistakes, you should be well on your way to becoming a successful business.

Internet Marketing Expert – How to Position Yourself

by   Posted on March 17th, 2009 in internet marketing  and tagged

Are you trying to market Internet marketing related products on the Internet? If you are, perhaps you may want to spend some time considering your position in the marketplace. On the Internet, there are thousands of marketers trying to sell stuff to the same people. So what makes one marketer different from the other?

It’s all about positioning.

The first thing you need to do, is to position yourself as an Internet marketing expert. How do you do that? There are no professional institution that says that you must have a masters degree or anything like that. As long as you possess the knowledge, and you know how to make good money online, you can claim to be an expert.

In addition, you don’t want to be known as an expert in everything. You want to be known as someone who is an expert in just one particular field. For example, if you are good in SEO, then be an SEO expert. If you position yourself correctly, your customers should think of you the moment they think about SEO.

Being a jack of all trades will not help you sell more. It will only dilute your focus. You are an internet marketing expert. But what exactly is your specialty? If you don’t claim your position, somebody else will. This is the essence of positioning.

Once you have claimed your position, do everything you can to protect your position! Don’t let anyone tell you something about your specialty that you don’t know about. Be the number one expert. You will sell a lot more stuff than your counterparts.

The Biggest Problem I Have With Most Internet Marketing Experts or Gurus

by   Posted on March 17th, 2009 in internet marketing  and tagged

I have been dabbling with internet marketing since 2003 and like most people, many mistakes were made and much money was spent on countless products that promise you the sky. That aside, another common problem you will most likely encounter as you venture into the internet marketing world is this, you will be overwhelmed with countless products promising you immediate success almost on a daily basis.

When you are starting out, you will most likely find yourself subscribing to many list of gurus out there. There are the good gurus who will tell you success will come to those who work hard with a system built over time. And there are those who will ‘inspire’ you on how silly it is for one to not work smart to earn the largest amount of money in the shortest time.

The truth is this, none of them are lying to you, and it’s also quite probable that they have achieved their success in those manners that they have suggested. So my main gripe about them is not what or even how they pitch but it’s how often they blast you with offers after offers of other fellow gurus whom they have come to admire or even trust.

Honestly, they could all be sincerely trying to help but personally they are just doing you a big disfavor of distracting you from real success. You see, as a regular guy juggling between work, family and a few internet businesses, staying focus is something that I had to work on constantly. Do not get me wrong, I do find myself suffering from the fear of not being in the know of the latest product launch or the next big secret on search engine ranking etc. But I have also learned over the years, my most productive times were when I decided to unsubscribe from all the gurus’ lists and focus on one key skill at a time.

Seriously, do yourself a big favor, find a system that taps on your strength and also the fundamentals of operating an internet business and work on it. Devout at least 6 months of your time on one skill set before moving on to the next. And before you know it, you will celebrate this year with much joy and satisfaction.

Internet Marketing and Its Importance

by   Posted on March 17th, 2009 in internet marketing  and tagged

If you think internet marketing is important now, just wait a few years. Ten or twenty years from now internet access and communication will dominate every day life.

Internet marketing will trump TV and other traditional forms of advertisement. Just imagine TV being extent. TV will go the way of the newspaper, an obsolete technology. That why you see major cable providers also provide internet access, and a wide range of new interactive cable, a-la internet features and capabilities.

New technologies like “ON-Demand” TV shows and movies offered by Cable companies are nothing more then people ‘downloading’ shows and videos from the internet, or in this case the servers of the Cable companies to your ‘computer’ or receiver.

The internet is ever growing and expanding. I doubt few thought the internet would of grown and evolved like this. These days, with the advent of Twitter, and Blogs, the internet has truly become a platform of communication. Direct-response marketing of old took a spin on it’s head with new internet technologies.

Now you can get almost instantaneous feedback on what’s working or what’s not. When companies make bad public relations move they know instantaneously by the chatter on the blogosphere. This has benefits for a company can do a 180 quicker and dodge bigger PR headaches.

The internet, and internet marketing has become a living breathing entity… you have to monitor your web to establish your brand and products. You are in a direct communication with your customers. The feedback loop is instantaneous. Those who know how to utilized the new technologies will be leaders of there trade.

AdWords Marketing Tips – 3 Must-Know Tips to Put Your Internet Marketing on Steroids

by   Posted on March 17th, 2009 in internet marketing  and tagged

The success of your AdWords venture is measured by the number of conversions you get. To get the conversions the performance quality of your account should improve without an increase in your costs. The 3 AdWords tips discussed below will help you optimize your efforts.

1. Identify your goals

You can have one or more goals like getting more clicks, improving your CTR, or getting better ROI etc. The primary AdWords tips is to identify these goals clearly and lay down a strategy specific to those goals. For instances, if your goal is improving the CTR, then you should refine the quality of your Ad. You should consider tools like negative keywords or keywords that are highly targeted.

2. Track performance

Google AdWords is a business and you cannot just put together some advertisements and then forget about it thinking it will earn itself for you. No, like in any other business, you should monitor the performance of your advertisements on a continuous basis and make changes whenever necessary. AdWords tips can point towards these gray areas, but you should find quality time to implement them.

3. Test your campaigns

When you notice poor results from your campaign, explore the reasons. Are your prospects getting motivated enough with the call for action line, or is it sitting there like a dead duck. Can there be a better combination of words that would trigger the call for action? When you repeat this process, you will soon differentiate the best performing ads from the others and soon be on the road to success.

Quick and Easy Way to Internet Marketing, Social Networking

by   Posted on March 17th, 2009 in internet marketing  and tagged

Many people feel they cannot make money on the Internet today because they lack the proper marketing experience. As they look at existing Internet businesses they feel like the Internet is saturated and does not offer them the same opportunities it might have even a couple years ago.

This simply is not true because the Internet has only been around for a little over 10 years as a business tool. And when you look at the marketing experience some business people have, you can quickly see that everyone has the same opportunity today regardless of their current level of experience.

One of the easiest ways to get marketing experience is to subscribe to the RSS feeds of experienced Internet marketers. This is free to do and gives you the opportunity to be kept up to date on what more experienced marketers are doing.

You can choose to do this through your own RSS feed reader, or you can receive updates by email. This is a very passive way to learn and to become more experienced yourself.

Plus it gives you the incentive to learn a little bit more about your competitors before you subscribe to their feeds.

One other thing is to constantly be working on improving your Internet business. By implementing the things you learn you will find your own experience increases and you’ll develop a following of your own.

This is a quick and easy way for you to get marketing experience and begin making money online. Do not feel overwhelmed because of where you are currently are at, or what you see as insurmountable competition. If you have a home based business you want to promote on the Internet you need fresh leads on a consistent basis. One of the best ways to do that today is to use social media to get quality leads. Here are a couple of ways you can do that.

1. You should start your own blog that teaches people how to make money on the Internet. You can give away something for free on your blog that would encourage a visitor to give you their name and email address.

This is known as building an opt in list and is a fantastic way to use social media to create leads for future business. The main reason for this is once you have their name and email address you can leverage that to develop relationships and get to know your prospects as people.

This is much better than purchasing leads because the leads come from your blog. You get a chance to brand yourself as an expert and as a friend at the same time.

2. Social networking is another way to use social media to leverage leads. Two of the most popular social networks today are Facebook and Twitter.

With Facebook you can get to know other business professionals who are open to opportunities such as the one you offer. Twitter is an example of micro blogging and is quickly becoming a favorite way for people to develop friends and update their followers on what is happening in their lives and in their business.

This is two ideas on how to use social media to leverage leads to build your home based business.

Internet Marketing Tips – Come Up With Something Different at Forums

by   Posted on March 17th, 2009 in internet marketing  and tagged

There is one very big problem with participating at forums, especially if you’ve been frequenting one for a very long time. Eventually, everything you see has been done and done to death. It’s the same old questions asked time and time again. Even some of the new people start to get tired of them. Well, if you want to really make a hit at the forum you’re at, come up with something different. This article is going to explain.

I’m going to relate a true story to illustrate my point. A few days ago, I came up with a thread where I asked people to share their copy and paste secrets. Now, in a forum where everything is about making money and the usual questions are along the lines of, “How many articles do I have to write to make $100 a day?” it was quite refreshing to see something so, well, different. Even one of the oldest members of the forum remarked in the thread that THIS was a cool topic. And trust me, this person doesn’t say things like that often. Point is, you need to think a little outside the box if you want to make an impression.

Now, how do you do this? Many people would ask what copy and paste has to do with making money. But think about it. All the things that you do that involve typing take a lot of time. Take for example your thank you emails that you send for all your product sales. Imagine having to type each one out by hand. That could be very time consuming and keep you from doing other more productive things. However, by having a stock thank you already typed up that you can just copy and paste, you can save yourself hours of time and free yourself up to do other things.

The key is to look at the main topic of your forum and see if you can think of some subjects that might be a little off the beaten path but still relevant to the forum itself. Sure, it’s going to take a bit of thought. After all, the common topics are easy to think of. People are doing it all the time. It’s when you think outside of the box that you’re going to get other members to notice. And when THAT happens, they’ll begin to notice you. They’ll start to look for your contributions. You’ll become a respected member and contributor. This is how reputations are made.

So the next time you go to your favorite forum, think about how you can contribute to the forum in a unique way. It just might be the best thing you’ve ever done there.

To YOUR Success,

Steven Wagenheim

Home-based Internet Marketing – Do You Have the Right Attitude For Success?

by   Posted on March 17th, 2009 in internet marketing  and tagged

The allure of internet marketing seems almost too good to be true: you can work on your own time at home or anywhere in the world; you can be your own boss or keep your day job. And for a few hundred dollars these days, you can buy really good internet marketing packages that will train you step-by-step on how to make the kind of money you only dream of. Do they work? Yes, many of them do.

So then why isn’t everybody, including your uncle and grandmother, a successful internet marketer? The people who put these courses or strategies together will promise huge returns for not that much work. Plus they say anyone without prior marketing experience can do it. These claims are for the most part true, but only AFTER you’ve digested the information, performed the required steps and gotten into the rhythm of the business.

Despite what they say, I don’t believe anyone can do it. The ads say anyone can do it because success these days has nothing to do with academic qualifications or past business experience. But attaining success without prior business experience requires a huge change of mental attitude-and not everyone is willing to change their attitude.

For example, treat your home-based business as a side hobby and you will be doomed to failure. It is a business, and you, the business owner, must start thinking, acting and feeling like an entrepreneur from the moment you start.

Successful entrepreneurs all share the same basic mental attitude, which you will find vastly different from yours if you’ve never marketed anything. Successful entrepreneurs are fluid and adapt quickly to changing circumstances, and they don’t back away from any challenge. Mentally, they are like chameleons, whereas you are still trapped by the limitations of your daytime identity, whether you are a marine biologist, schoolteacher, musician or bus driver.

Only if you reprogram yourself as an entrepreneur can you acquire the determination and focus to overcome the uncertainties of the initial period. You may be thinking, “Gosh, it would be nice if this internet marketing thing works out. I could quit my job and move out of this one-horse town.” But without having a solid plan and complete faith in your product or service, you are only daydreaming. You will not likely get past the first two or three major challenges that you encounter.

When I first started doing an internet marketing course, I felt a huge surge of resistance just following the first steps in choosing a hosting service and autoresponder. And when I was asked to write articles and advertise, my brain was screaming, “What the hell am I doing? I’m just a library clerk!” Much mental wrestling followed before I learned to relax and have fun being something I never seriously believed I could become-a businessman.

So my recommendation is this: read up on all the books you can on business, positive thinking and success. Attend seminars and workshops. Rewire your head and commit yourself 100 percent to the success of your home-based business before you begin. Even if it is part-time, don’t give yourself an escape hatch by thinking, “I’ll give it a try, and if it doesn’t work out, I’ll just stick to my dead-end job.” If giving up your day job is your goal, dedicate yourself to it completely.

Ideally, you should try to find an internet marketing course that comes with lots of motivational support. You WILL be sorely tested, especially at the beginning when you are setting your marketing plan into action.

Without something to keep you motivated, positive and enthusiastic, you will give up-perhaps just when you are at the brink of success. That would be not just sad but tragic.

Empowering Your Internet Marketing by Means of Article Marketing

by   Posted on March 17th, 2009 in internet marketing  and tagged

If you are an aspiring Internet entrepreneur and have organized a fine business opportunity that can benefit the masses in this crumbling economy, then you have a lot of work ahead of you in bringing that opportunity to the spotlight and acquiring leads and subscribers to fuel your business and earn residual income.

Internet marketing is by no means a method that can give you sales and revenue overnight. If your business domain and web site are brand new, then you should be expecting some success after a few weeks to a few months of marketing efforts. The time it takes depends on your consistency in marketing and the opportunity itself. Still your marketing skills play an important role to the success of any Internet entrepreneur.

Internet entrepreneurs that want quick results may want to consider article marketing because it is simple to do, it can give you organic traffic, and it can answer a lot of questions that may revolve around people’s minds if ever they are hesitant in joining your business opportunity. Articles can also add legitimacy to your online business and can be used as resource links that you can send to people who ask questions where the answers lie in the articles you made.

Before starting an article for Internet entrepreneur usage, first think about where your articles will be posted. If you are thinking of posting these articles into your site, then you can use any format you like and that’s also a good way in getting your site better indexed. Posting the same articles in other directories also help get more traffic as people often hang out in the article directories looking for a good online opportunity. However, most of these sites have rules and guidelines, so understand the rules so that you can create a single article that fits both your website and the article directory.

If you as an internet Entrepreneur have no writing background, you can always hire someone to do it or join a ghostwriting service and pay for articles on a subscription basis. If you plan on doing it independently, make sure that your articles are well-written without grammar and spelling deficiencies and remain tied to the topic.

It also helps to make a good title using certain keyword phrases and apply them to your sub headers as well. Keyword sprinkling is a good way of getting your article on the search engine map. Just make sure your article makes sense and you should be fine. Remember to put a link to the website you are promoting at the end of the article so people can click on it to get more information.

Once your article is finished, proofread and check for any errors before submission. You can also put it under a plagiarism check in case you may unintentionally used phrases that are used by other articles. Keeping your article original is important for getting attention sales and traffic and avoiding trouble from rivals.

After your article is submitted or uploaded, it should stay there forever providing that it complies with all the rules. You can then proceed to making more articles to further improve your search engine ranking and gain more exposure to your website.

Yonathan Aynom’s website can show you how to position yourself for the better in this economy, visit http://www.Internet-Entrepreneur-Ideas.com for more tips on Internet Entrepreneurship.
